Terms of Service

Effective Date: 3 May 2026 Last Updated: 3 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Steward mobile application and admin web panel (the "Service"), provided by Injil AI ("we," "us," "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Two Kinds of Users

The Service has two user types, and these Terms apply differently to each:

  • Church Customers: organizations (churches, ministries) that subscribe to Steward and enroll their members. A separate Subscription Agreement between Injil AI and the Church Customer governs the commercial relationship, including pricing, data ownership, support obligations, and termination.
  • Individual Users: members, staff, volunteers, and visitors of a Church Customer who are enrolled in the Service by that Church Customer. These Terms govern your individual use of the app.

If you are an Individual User, your access to the Service is provided through and at the discretion of your Church Customer. Your church administrator can grant, modify, or revoke your access at any time.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@injil-ai.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Accounts created via "open registration" are subject to approval by your church administrator. Until approved, your access to features may be limited.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. The Service is not designed for unsupervised use by children; children are processed only via the children's ministry check-in feature, which is administered by parents/guardians and church staff (see Privacy Policy).

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any law or regulation
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a church
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or to the underlying systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except where legally permitted
  • Upload malicious code, attempt to disrupt the Service, or probe for vulnerabilities outside of a coordinated disclosure program
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data about other users
  • Use the member directory, messaging, or any communication feature for spam, harassment, advertising, political campaigning, or any purpose other than legitimate church community communication
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service

Your church administrator may have additional rules; violations may result in your access being revoked by your church.

4. Content You Submit

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (announcements, sermon notes, photos, profile information). By submitting content, you grant Injil AI and your Church Customer a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service for you and your church. We do not use your content for advertising, training third-party AI models, or any unrelated commercial purpose.

You are responsible for the content you submit. Don't submit content you don't have the right to share, content that violates someone else's privacy or intellectual property, or content that's unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate.

5. Church Customer Control

Your Church Customer controls many aspects of your experience, including:

  • Whether your account is approved
  • Which features are enabled (e.g., directory visibility, children's check-in)
  • Your role and permissions
  • Whether and when your account is deactivated

If your Church Customer terminates its subscription with Steward, your access to the Service ends. Data export and retention during this transition are governed by the Subscription Agreement between Injil AI and the Church Customer, not these Terms.

6. Beta Features

We may release new features in beta. Beta features are provided "as is," may not work reliably, and may be modified or removed without notice. Don't rely on beta features for mission-critical workflows.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted Service. We may perform scheduled maintenance, and unexpected outages may occur. The Service depends on third-party infrastructure (cloud hosting, app stores, push notification services); outages in these dependencies may affect availability.

Live and historical service status is published at https://status.injil-ai.com. For details on hosting, data residency, encryption, and backups, see our Security & Reliability page.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your Church Customer requests it
  • Your Church Customer's subscription ends
  • We are required by law

You may stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of your personal data, see the Privacy Policy (Section 4.4).

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES.

Attendance detection via Bluetooth and location is best-effort. Detection may fail due to device settings, hardware limitations, signal interference, or environmental factors. Do not rely solely on automatic attendance detection for safety-critical purposes (such as evacuation accountability or legally mandated headcounts).

10. Limitation of Liability

Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where permitted, and for services not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied.

Subject to the paragraph above, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INJIL AI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Subject to the Australian Consumer Law paragraph above, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID INJIL AI IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (which, for Individual Users not directly paying us, is zero), OR (B) AUD $100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Injil AI, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims arising from your violation of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict of laws principles. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts competent to hear appeals from them, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms (along with the Privacy Policy and, for Church Customers, the Subscription Agreement) constitute the entire agreement between you and Injil AI.
  • Severability: If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • No Waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
